Artist of the Month - July 2024

We are thrilled to present the St. Clair Art Association's Artist of the Month: Sara Black. Sara is an up-and-coming artist celebrated for her vibrant, large-scale canvases that feature colorful florals, intricate gold line details, and dazzling gold accents that shimmer under the light. With eight years of experience in art education, Sara has honed a unique style that captures the beauty and resilience of nature, symbolizing life's journey from change and chaos to a state of tranquility. Her series "Traversing the Heart’s Odyssey" beautifully exemplifies this theme.

Drawing inspiration from the flowers in her own garden and her family’s flower beds, Sara’s work showcases her deep affection for florals. This September, she will debut her piece "Euphoric Blooms" at ArtPrize, hosted at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

As a proud St. Clair High School alumna (Class of 2009) and current art teacher there, Sara’s feature at the St. Clair Art Association is particularly special. Outside of her artistic endeavors, she enjoys skiing, snowboarding, and spending quality time with her family and her cherished dog, Barley. Sara’s art reflects her personal experiences and seeks to inspire others to find joy and meaning in their lives.
