The 2016 St. Clair Art Fair was the 45th annual. For 2016 we had a three day Art Fair with expanded hours! Art Fair opened at Noon on Friday and was open Saturday and Sunday to great weather all three days, June 24-26! The Art Association is proud this year to have the generous support of the St. Clair Foundation and the Community Foundation of St. Clair County to help bring the Art Fair to our community.
Where – Downtown St. Clair, Michigan, in Palmer Park along the St. Clair River and in the Riverview Plaza. From I-94, take exit 257 (Fred Moore Highway) east 8 miles; on GPS use “Riverside Ave and Jay St, Saint Clair” for cross streets.
Artist Information – Artist booths were located in Palmer Park along the Boardwalk on the St. Clair River & next to the sidewalk along Riverside Avenue and in Riverview Plaza under cover in the corridors & in the Plaza Park center area of the Riverview Plaza. Featured Artist Information – Our featured artist this year was Julienne Jaworski from Port Sanilac, Michigan. Julienne’s paintings will be on display in the Art Center front gallery during the Art Fair and until mid-August.
Performing Artist Information – A variety of music could be heard on Saturday and Sunday during the Art Fair. Most performances were at the Park Plaza stage, but there will also was some groups strolling the Art Fair grounds. The 2016 Performing Artists page lists musicians that appeared.
Art Fair Raffle – This year the Art Fair raffle was again a 50/50 raffle with a minimum prize of $1000. Our lucky winner took home $1674!! Our 2016 raffle is licensed by the State of Michigan Bureau of State Lottery – Charitable Gaming Division, license number R35752.
Nonprofit Organization Participation – Several local nonprofit organizations and churches had tables setup during the Art Fair. They had a variety of activities; selling raffle tickets, bake sales, providing information. The nonprofit organizations were located in the Subway corridor across from the Art Center.
Planning for the 2017 Art Fair is already underway. Artist applications will be available in November, 2016. Please note that commercial vendors (eg. cable TV vendors, home improvement companies, etc.) are not accepted for participation in the Art Fair.
