We are currently working on a new website for the Art Association and are excited about the opportunities it will provide us. When we have a target launch date we’ll let you know here and on our Facebook and Instagram sites.
Due to uncertainty related to COVID-19 pandemic we will not be hosting the Yuletyme Fair in 2020. Our gallery re-opened with reduced hours in September. Because of the COVID-19 health advisories we have not been able have enough volunteers to open the gallery with normal hours and cannot ensure a fully open and staffed gallery for the holiday season.
Almost six months to the day since we closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are planning to re-open the gallery next week with reduced hours. Starting on September 15 we plan to have the gallery open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. A huge “thank you” goes to those who have volunteered their time and have allowed us to re-open. To keep our volunteers and gallery visitors as safe as possible we are following guidelines from the State of Michigan and CDC, including requiring face masks (disposable masks will be available), social distancing, having hand sanitizer available and limiting the number of visitors in the gallery. If you’re making a special trip to visit the gallery we suggest you call ahead to make sure a volunteer is available and the gallery is open. The Art Center number is 810-329-9576. • Our Education staff continues to work to start art classes soon and safely.
The Alice W. Moore Center for the Arts will remain closed while we develop a plan for re-opening. This includes the gallery and studio. All classes remain suspended until further notice.
It is with heavy hearts that we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 St Clair Art Fair scheduled for June 27 & 28. The St. Clair Art Association Board of Directors decided that due to the on-going uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic it is necessary to cancel the event for this year in order to safeguard the health of our community, the artists, volunteers and the many visitors who annually attend and support our art fair. All artist fees will be refunded.
Thank you for your understanding that this was a very hard decision. We will begin to plan the 2021 St Clair Art Fair which will be June 26 & 27, 2021.
MARCH 31 UPDATE – We are still actively planning for our Art Fair in June. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the recommendations from national, state and local public health officials. The health and safety of our artists, visitors and volunteers is our first priority. Any decision regarding the status of the Art Fair will be determined by these factors. We are planning to review the situation at the end of April. If the Art Fair is not cancelled, booth fees checks will not be deposited or credit payments requested until after the first of May. If the Art Fair is cancelled all application and booth fees already paid will be refunded.
