Fish Out of Water
The mosaic fish sculpture project is underway and you are invited to make clay tiles that will be placed on a large fish sculpture. The project began in the Creation Station at the St. Clair Art Fair and continues with ongoing tile making workshops.

Example of mosaic fish sculpture
The tiles are created, dried, fired in a kiln then glazed and fired again. An armature will be built with rebar and cement and the tiles will be attached to the cement.
When the fish sculpture is completed it will be installed along a newly extended boardwalk by Rotary Park beside the Pine River and the Harbor.
If your family or friends would like to participate in making tiles for the mosaic fish or if you would like to help with the creation of the sculpture, please call the Art Center.
We’ve promoted the mosaic fish project to other cities in the Blue Water area and through the Blue Water Arts Council and Blue Water Convention & Tourist Bureau so there could be a “school of fish” in the Blue Water area.
Supplies needed for this project are clay, glazes, firing in a kiln, cement, rebar, grout, grout and tile cleaner, mastic, wire mesh, mortar, stucco, sealer, landscaping, labor, installation pad, printing costs for the completed project brochure, etc., at an approximate cost of $5,000.
