Group of Eight
The Group of Eight separately attended classes at the Starkweather Alley Gallery run by August Gloss. Each Artist from the Group of Eight studied
with August at various times for various lengths of time – from 3 to 15 years. All members of this group came to pastels through the guidance of August. Though each artist has experiences in other media, pastel, and thus August, is still the connecting link between this diverse group of artists.
The group continues to meet indoors each Saturday during cold weather and organizes plein air excursions during warmer months.
