Cathee Roehrig Exhibit
In August and September, 2015, the Art Center hosted a solo exhibit of local artist Cathee Roehrig’s work. The exhibit was titled Abstract Mind. Cathee provided the following statement for our exhibit program –
Having always had a great love for rusted and found objects, (Especially odd things with — or without—great, old, chipped patinas.), I found that I wanted to give these worn out/thrown out pieces from our wasteful world a new home—a new, creative lease on life, if you will—so I incorporate the wonderful “thingamabobs” that I find in my travels into my abstract works of art.
Everything inspires me, and I am an artist who dabbles in most any form of art—cartooning, realism, abstract, doodles, photography, painting, drawing, interior design, the written word, etc.— just about anything that I feel that I want to explore in the artistic sense, I do explore.
Several of the images below depict work that was displayed during the exhibit and remain on display in the gallery; there are also images of other work Cathee has available in the gallery.
