SCAA Thanks the Community Foundation of St. Clair County

The Community Foundation of St. Clair County generously awarded the Public Arts Committee of the St. Clair Art Association $4,410 to support two projects.

The “Seasons in St. Clair” project is in its third year, calling for artists to create a two dimensional art piece depicting Winter in St. Clair.  The winning juried piece will be reproduced as prints that will be sold at St. Clair Art Association Alice W. Moore Center for the Arts located in the Riverview Plaza.  This will be a limited edition collection that makes a wonderful gift.  All proceeds will be used for additional Public Art projects.

The “Fish Out of Water” project, fondly known as our mosaic fish sculpture project, has involved the entire community.  The public has been invited to participate in making clay tiles at the Moore Center for the Arts since June of 2010.  The tiles will be placed on an approximately 12 foot fish sculpture that will be placed along the Pine River on land that is an extension of Rotary Park on Clinton Avenue.

The St. Clair Art Association is grateful for the financial support of the Community Foundation in our efforts to beautify and introduce art to the community of St. Clair!!
