The St. Clair Rotary Club is sponsoring the 2015 Bootlegger Balladeer and Poet Laureate songwriting and poetry contest. The competition is to determine who can write the best song or poem for the “2015 Legend“. Poets will be competing for the title, St. Clair’s 2015 Poet Laureate and song writers will compete for the title, St. Clair’s 2015 Bootlegger Balladeer. Chalk the Walk will soon be here! On Saturday, September 27 from 10 am to 4 pm the St. Clair Art Association and the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce will sponsor “Chalk the Walk”. Stop in at the Art Center in Riverview Plaza in downtown Saint Clair and register to get a box of chalk and create your own sidewalk work of Art! No cost to participate for kids & adults! The same day you can also check out the 6th Annual Whistles on the Water in Palmer Park from 9 am to 6 pm, where you can see and hear the historic whistles.

This session class offerings include clay, painting, digital photography, sewing, quilting, printmaking and Tangling Yarn-Knitting & Crochet. We welcome Jason Stier as an instructor this session!! Jason will teach Drawing & Beyond where students will explore the impact of art & design on everyday life. A workshop led by Jason titled Technology in Art is scheduled for Saturday, September 20 at 10 am. Bring your own laptop, tablet or smart phone and explore how technology has become a powerful & versatile tool for creating art, photography, video editing, music making 3D design and more!
The winners of the 2014 Street Banner contest were selected by a vote of the public and announced at the May 14 reception for all the banner artists. The winning youth banner is shown at left and the winning adult banner on the right. The banners will be hanging from the skylights in the corridors of the Riverview Plaza in downtown Saint Clair until they are moved to be on display from street lampposts throughout Saint Clair.
