There are two separate acrylic painting workshops scheduled at the Art Center for two Saturdays in December! On December 13 from 10 am to Noon, a Holiday Acrylic Painting Workshop is scheduled. Marilyn Biernot-Hess will lead the group in creating holiday themed paintings on two small canvas. On the next Saturday, December 20 from 10 am to Noon will be a Acrylic Winter Scene Workshop. Marilyn will again be the instructor. You will work on a 12″x16″ canvas to create a winter scene.
Both workshops are open to ages 11 to adult. The cost is only $20 for 12/13 and $30 for the 12/20 workshop. Hope to see you there!

The annual Yuletyme Fair kicks off with the Preview Reception on Tuesday, November 18 from 6 to 8 pm at the Art Center. This a one-of-a-kind shopping experience transforms the gallery from a fine art exhibition space to a fun, energetic gift market featuring artwork and hand-made items by local artists offering a wide range of mediums. The St. Clair Rotary Club is sponsoring the 2015 Bootlegger Balladeer and Poet Laureate songwriting and poetry contest. The competition is to determine who can write the best song or poem for the “2015 Legend“. Poets will be competing for the title, St. Clair’s 2015 Poet Laureate and song writers will compete for the title, St. Clair’s 2015 Bootlegger Balladeer. Chalk the Walk will soon be here! On Saturday, September 27 from 10 am to 4 pm the St. Clair Art Association and the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce will sponsor “Chalk the Walk”. Stop in at the Art Center in Riverview Plaza in downtown Saint Clair and register to get a box of chalk and create your own sidewalk work of Art! No cost to participate for kids & adults! The same day you can also check out the 6th Annual Whistles on the Water in Palmer Park from 9 am to 6 pm, where you can see and hear the historic whistles.
