The Awards Ceremony will be Tuesday, May 3, at 5 – 7 PM in the Art Center. Everyone is welcome – please attend and support our local student artists. The exhibit will be on display through May 14th.
The Art Center will be closed until January 19, 2016. A new wood floor is scheduled to be installed in the gallery the week of January 4th and the annual gallery inventory process will occur the following week, January 11, 2016. The gallery (with the new wood floor!!) reopens for business on January 19, 2016. Stop by to see how it looks!
The last week of classes for Session 3 will be the week of January 4th. The studio will be open while the new floor is installed in the Gallery; please use the Riverside entrance. Session 4 starts the week of January 19th. The class flyer with class descriptions, schedules and cost can be opened at this link, or pick one up at the mall entrance to the Art Center. Note that as of 1/4/16 the Clay Throwing classes (Codes A-1 and A-8) are full; no more students can be registered for these two classes in Session 4.
Join us for the opening reception for the annual Yuletyme Fair at the Alice W. Moore Center for the Arts! On Tuesday, November 17 from 6 pm to 8 pm enjoy an evening with friends & neighbors and start your holiday shopping. The gallery will feature artwork and hand-made holiday themed items by local artists. The Yuletyme Fair will continue through December 23rd on Tuesdays – Saturdays, 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays in December, Noon to 4 pm.
Our next special exhibit will be on display starting September 22 and run through November 6. It will be a solo exhibit by artist Daniel Lancaster, featuring glass and light. The opening reception on Saturday, October 3 from 5 pm to 8 pm will give everyone an opportunity to meet the artist. From 1 to 4 pm on August 29 our 2015 Art Fair Featured Artist, Carol Zack, oil pastel artist from Chicago, will provide a Pastel Painting Experience, designed to introduce the participant to some easy pastel painting techniques that will engage the participant in understanding a pastel painting process, the quality of materials and presentation needed using artists’ grade oil pastels and a finished frame. Participants do not need to have painting experience to successfully complete this exercise. All materials are included. Cost is $140. The deadline to register has been extended to August 26.
